You'll need to have experience in paddling a loaded sea kayak up to 15 nautical miles (ca.30km) a day and have done at least one multi day trip. You should be happy in 4-5 BFT for extended periods of time with the skill set of a Sea Kayak Leader or Coastal Sea kayak Award level/holder, with solid rescue and self-rescue skills.
We can provide you with a Sea kayak, paddle and spray deck if needed. Camping kit, food, transport and accommodation are not included.
Rough schedule and plan:

  • 2 day meet/training on Anglesey in the last week of February. D.TBC
  • Travelling on the 12th and meet up near Ford William.(Location TBC) We'll come up with a plan for the next few days and where to launch from.
  • 13th: We'll get our self to a starting point and get underway. It should be a fairly short paddle really. So we can make sure we got everything we need and don't rush around, packing boats etc.
  • 14th-22nd of May: If the weather is kind enough we'll push on with the goal to circumnavigate Skye. But this is weather dependent of course.
